The flexible MURFE has been designed for convenience.
The compact 24 Litre unit features a clever stacking system, with allows the stations to nest or stack, optimising floor space. The convenient handle ensures recoverables can be easily separated, stored and then transported to a larger collection area, a process young students will enjoy participating in.
The MURFE is available in four options, Landfill (Red), Paper Recycling (Blue), Recycling (Yellow) and Soft Plastics (Orange). Each unit is manufactured in Australian Standard waste colours, and features the waste stream label and symbol, hot stamped on the front.

The compact design fits under most sinks, or beside a desk or counter, and the drop front makes it easy for recyclables and landfill to be inserted. The durable single handle lifts from the rim to assist with manual handling.
This highly flexible system can be nested when not in use, or stacked to form a 96 litre station, with a relatively small footprint.
It is manufactured with a proportion of recycled content, and UV stabilised to resist deterioration from sunlight. The units are then hot stamped to produce a permanent label form each stream. Easy to clean, the unit has a solid base to minimise spills and can be easily hosed out to clean.

This product is made of HDPE and includes a proportion of post manufacturing recycled content. The unit can be recycled at end of life.
If recycling facilities for this type of product are not available through your waste collection contractor, or in your local area, take advantage of Source Separation Systems’ Circular Economy Program. You can return any of our products to our warehouse in Newcastle, and we will ensure it is recycled.
In this case the plastics are granulated with similar materials and colours, providing a precious resource which can then be used for the manufacture of new high-quality products.
Red is the Australian Standard colour for Landfill, so this bright red unit with a hot stamped label is easily recognisable for Landfill waste.
The worlds precious resources are limited. Sending items to Landfill limits the reuse of these resources, and also creates environmental risks given the toxins, micro-plastics and gases associated with Landfill sites, which can escape into the wider environment. The aim of sustainability programs should be to minimise Landfill streams, and in leading organisations Landfill is eliminated with conscious sustainable ordering practices as well as recycling programs.
