Dog Waste Bags
Being in the beautiful and unique Australian outdoors with fur babies is sure to inspire most people to be more sustainable. Compost-A-Pak® Dog Waste Bags make the transition away from plastics a simple choice, by providing the same durability and convenience for the delicate operation of picking up and transporting animal waste.
These Compost-A-Pak® Dog Waste Bags are sold in single rolls of 15, which are inside a convenient carry pouch or in a commercial roll of 200. The bags are made predominantly of waste corn and are importantly Australian Certified compostable for both home and commercial composting facilities. The non-woven material used to make the pouch is also Australian Certified compostable for commercial composting.
Available at your convenience on your fur babies leash inside the pouch, the Dog Waste Bags are designed to pick up waste, be inverted, and tied off before disposal.
Proudly an Australian family owned business, since 2007 we have been helping councils and community groups manage litter with this effective, sustainable solution.
Compost-A-Pak®’s manufacturing processes are driven by our passion for sustainability.
All Compost-A-Pak® products are made from a natural starch-based polymer derived from corn. We choose corn, as it is an annually renewable crop, unlike trees, which can take years to grow. The actual crops are sourced from international GMO-free regions with high levels of rain, to minimise irrigation, and the corn selected is third grade corn. This is basically spoilt corn, a waste product traditionally left by farmers to rot, that is not suitable for human or animal consumption.
Using purpose built biodegradable resin extruders, a resin is extracted from the combination of corn starch, biodegradable ingredients and some propriety elements. Blown film bags are then formed in a range of designs and sizes. We are extremely proud that through re-engineering this purpose-built equipment, our liners are made with significantly less electricity consumption, compared to manufacturing on conventional extrusion equipment. The products are also printed in soy-based inks, with environmental messages and information promoting their difference as a sustainable alternative to plastics. They have a recommended shelf life of twelve months.
Most importantly Compost-A-Pak® Dog Waste Bags are Certified compostable to the stricter Australian standards, for both home composting (AS5810) and commercial composting (AS4736), as well as the relevant European, American and Japanese standards for commercial composting. In the same way as vegetable scraps, the products will break down into humus, water and carbon dioxide in a commercial composting facility in a matter of weeks. The certifications ensure you can be confident there will be no harmful residue as the liners break down.
The Pouches are made of the same ingredients, however, are a thicker non-woven material. Each Pouch is sewn together with cotton and therefore, except for the small Velcro Square, the pouch is also Australian Certified for commercial composting.
This range holds a reputation for consistent high quality, due in part to Compost-A-Pak®’s unique minimum micron (um) manufacturing standards. Scientifically tested, with millions of bags in use, Compost-A-Pak® products provide the high quality required for the delicate operation of picking up animal waste.
